“A lot of places, like if you go to a general contractor, will just get you a replacement coil and the conversation ends there. We do problem-solving for replacement coils, as well as we can go out, measure and size the coils. Pretty much start to finish we do everything involved in that process,” says Tom Eierdam.

Tom Eierdam jokingly added, “Yeah we chose not to participate in the pandemic and just kept going”.
The team brings Freeze Block to market through new construction specs and value-based selling on replacement coil jobs. “Due to our location being right next to the lake, we obviously have a lot of frozen coils during the winter,” states Tom Eierdam. “We kind of joke in Ohio, the weather no matter what it is, it’s always one extreme or the other. [With Freeze Block coils], if they do freeze, you’re not going to damage the coils. That’s something a lot of customers are very interested in.”

Customer Success Story: Eierdam & Freeze Block Coils Saving Facilities Across Ohio
Lake effect weather patterns and severe temperature swings in Ohio can lead to unexpected freezes. On one of those freak nights, the temperatures dropped from 65 F to below freezing overnight. Thankfully, the Justice Center was equipped for this with Freeze Block Coils installed by Eierdam & Associates.
“Before the job was done, we got a call that everything was wet in the location. At the time, the coil didn’t have dampers installed, and the coil actually froze that night.” Upon arrival on-site, the team explained to the Justice Center how the coil froze, and the Freeze Block relief valve discharged, saving the coil.
This wasn’t an isolated incident, Eierdam was also called into the Rubbermaid Factory for an 8 row, 7-foot long Freeze Block coil that had discharged. “One of the maintenance guys actually turned off the pump to the coil,” says Tom Eierdam. “[That] large coil was probably only installed for about a month before they turned it to a block of ice.”
