About Engineered Products

New Equipment Rep, Serving Colorado and Southern Wyoming

Engineered Products is an HVAC representative firm located in Golden, CO. Started by Matt Miceli three years ago, this team is making a huge splash in Colorado and Wyoming. The team is made up of application engineers, outside sales engineers, inside sales, and a technical services team – all with diverse backgrounds and experience in the HVAC industry.

What sets Engineered Products apart from the competition?

Engineered Products is committed to understanding its customer’s needs. “We really try and gain an understanding of our customer needs in order to help them find the proper solution,” says Matt Miceli, president at Engineered Products.

For Engineered Products, service doesn’t stop once a PO is submitted. The team’s attention to detail sets them apart from other firms in their market; following up with submittals, making sure things ship on time, and ensuring everything started up properly.

Successful Solutions for Healthcare & Higher Education

Engineered Products’ major markets are healthcare and higher education. “Freeze Block™ offers us a unique solution to those markets. It’s something that no one else is really out there doing.

Our customers typically come to us with an issue that they’ve had or a problem that’s occurred over the years. And Freeze Block™ allows us to come to the table with an actual solution to a real-world problem. And it’s a unique solution that that saves them money, saves them the angst of a potential future issue.”

Crushing the Colorado Market

Engineered Products’ success comes from their two-prong go-to-market approach – (1) educating customers before a freezing event occurs and (2) replacing frozen standard coils with a permanent solution.

Within their market, EP has identified major owners in the healthcare and higher education industries. “What we’ve done is we’ve taken the steps to educate [these owners] about Freeze Block™.” In 2022, the team kicked off a monthly educational webinar series on solutions for engineers and owners alike and is seen as an educational resource within their market.

“It’s cold here in Colorado and Wyoming, freezing as a common occurrence every year, we get a lot of calls for coils. At that time, instead of just giving them a new coil to replace like for like, we go ahead and educate them at that time. Instead of replacing the coil every single year, every other year, why don’t you resolve the solution now and it’d be a permanent solution. If you’re going to spend the money, let’s replace it with a better product that can prevent this issue from occurring in the future,” Matt Miceli explains.

Customer Success Story: Universities Eliminating Glycol & Freeze Block™

Last year, Evan Jones with Cooney Engineered Solutions had the opportunity to visit the major universities in the

Engineered Products market and present with the Engineered  Products team to facilities and engineering groups. The facilities and engineering teams were excited about the idea of Freeze Block™, especially with the potential to reduce and eliminate glycol usage throughout their campuses.

“[The universities in the Denver Market] have had some opportunities where they’ve had freezing events occur, and they needed to replace some coils.” The Engineered Products team offered Freeze Block™ as a solution to the problem at hand and potential future freezing issues.

“These Universities continue to freeze coils each year, they continue to waste energy and dollars on glycol. So, they really liked the solution of Freeze Block and they gave us a shot.”

In the brutal cold of the Colorado and Wyoming winters, the installed Freeze Block™ Coils continue to have success without issues.
